PayMPESA Helps Withdraw Your PayPal Funds to MPESA

There finally seems to be a legitimate, trustworthy way for Kenyans in Kenya to access their PayPal money quickly and easily: PayMPESA.

In case you are new here, some time last year PayPal did us a favour and made it possible to maintain a PayPal balance with a “Kenyan” PayPal account. This meant that we could finally receive money via PayPal in Kenya. However, withdrawing that money turned out to be a whole other story. Why? Because PayPal has no relationship (currently) with local banks. They need this in order to allow “Kenyan” PayPal accounts the ability to withdraw to a local, Kenyan, bank account. In plain English, this means that you can have money in PayPal but you cannot take it out.

The only way to take it out – and this is what PayPal themselves recommend – is to withdraw to a US bank account. Unfortunately, not many Kenyans have one so this is a very real and very serious problem when it comes to dealing with PayPal from Kenya.

Until now. With PayMPESA, all you have to do is to deposit your PayPal funds with them, and they will send it to you in Kenya via MPESA. Nice, eh? I think they are onto something very, very lucrative here and I wish them massive success.

Have you tried it yet? What do you think?

  1. This is impractical.

    • Why?

    • It is a Lie and very misleading. I contacted PayPal and they denied knowledge of such a service. Please be constructive when blogging.

      • Hello. I blogged about this because I thought that if it actually works, it can be a lifesaver to many people. I am not affiliated to them in any way.

I also contacted them (PayMPESA) and they told me that they had contacted and gotten approval from PayPal.

What exactly did PayPal say when you contacted them? I would love to update the blog post with this new information.

  2. Excerpt from PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy [1]:
    “Prohibited Activities”
“You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:”
“3. relate to transactions that (a) show the personal information of third parties in violation of applicable law, (b) support pyramid or ponzi schemes, matrix programs, other “get rich quick” schemes or certain multi-level marketing programs, (c) are associated with purchases of real property, annuities or lottery contracts, lay-away systems, off-shore banking or transactions to finance or refinance debts funded by a credit card, (d) are for the sale of certain items before the seller has control or possession of the item, (e) are by payment processors to collect payments on behalf of merchants, (f), are associated with the following Money Service Business activities: the sale of traveler’s checks or money orders, currency exchanges or check cashing, or (g) provide certain credit repair or debt settlement services”

Doesn’t a user of PayPesa’s service run the risk of falling foul of clause (f)? In this case, currency exchange would be PayPal to M-Pesa. This could be construed as money laundering and result in account closure. Maybe an email to PayPal for clarification?

Excerpt from PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy [1]:
“PayPal requires pre-approval to accept payments for certain services as set out in 6 above and detailed in the chart below…”
“acting as a money transmitter or selling stored value cards”

Has it been confirmed that PayPesa has permission from PayPal to provide this service?

  3. Hi Kelvin, When you contacted PayMPESA on the queries, what was there feedback? Has anyone tried them?

    • Hi Joel. Thanks for commenting. The response that I got was that PayMPESA have indeed contacted PayPal and they are awaiting PayPal’s decision. Let’s hope they are given the green light.

      • Yes, let’s. It would be quite embarrassing for them if they get a red light! All that work setting up a company and setting up the website will have been for nought.

Hmm. As I’m writing this, a visit to the PayMpesa website results in a blank page, with the messages “503 Service Unavailable. No server is available to handle this request.” or “504 Gateway Time-out. The server didn’t respond in time.”

        Coincidence? :p

Maybe they’re just having problems with their web host service provider. If so, and they get the go ahead, they should consider moving to a more reliable provider. Nothing puts off potential customers faster than an unreliable website.

        • Well, the good news is that I’ve just read an email from PayMPESA which says that they have been given a clean bill of health!! Now one can legitimately and legally withdraw PayPal in Kenya. 🙂

          • Does it work as advertised? Any idea how reliable it is? Really hope the day will come when one can operate a PayPal account in Kenya without all the dumb stresses of earlier days.

            • I withdrew my PayPal funds in exactly 5 days. I was indeed impressed by paympesa.com notification via sms and email. The system does work. The admin (Ndege Kevin) is very helpful. I’ll certainly use the system again, this time for large transactions.

              • well I am still waiting and this the 7th Day I dont know whats happening I am not so sure about this service if they cant stick to their own laid down procedures 5days should not be exceeded at what ever cost as that’s your selling point and the guarantee your giving to your users.

              • Hi Felix, may assist me on how to transact through PayMPESA in paypal when am in kenya for a certain survey data entry job please.good day.

  4. Even though they said that it’s hard to trust them. Even I can say I got a clean bill of health. In addition if something goes wrong and you need to raise a dispute with paypal, they cannot refund you for purchases relating to items that are equivalent to money. (or something of the sort. Just read their refund policy)

  5. I also have some serious reservations with these guys….I hope someone tries them and gives the feedback

  6. Thanks for a great articles i see on this blog. Would you by any chance know anything about ePay-Kenya?

    • Unfortunately, I haven’t personally used it. I’m trying to get some information on it ready. I will let you know.

    • Epay are very poor at customer relations, they never respond to email inquiries. Customer support and relations is non-existent which reads ARROGANCE.

      • Thanks for pointing out this. Now i do not need them.

      • Hi. I have been using epay-kenya for more than 6months now. they have excellent services and it only takes a tops of 24hours to get your cash via mpesa compared to paympesa which takes more than 5days

      • Be carefull Carol, there is epaykenya.com which is not functional at all and epay-kenya.com which is slowly winning the confidence of many online users due to their professional approach to business. I have noticed that they have even started an online ticket system to address queries from their customers. I have had a very good experience with them for the last one year. Try them out!

  7. so sad..by the way which is the best web host to create a wordpress blog based website here in kenya?

    • So has someone tried them? How does PayPal to PayMpesa to my cell phone work? Although, I have emailed the admin, I think Kevin should clarify this. Even beta Kevin should be our guinea pig :=). @ Julian, as for me, the best web-blog hosting company is Bluehost. Host-gator is good for e-commerce websites.

    • Well, as far as I know the process is the same no matter where in the world you are.

Go to http://www.wordpress.com and sign up. Easy peasy. 🙂

Otherwise you can download the software from here: http://www.wordpress.org and host it on your own domain name and site. We can help with affordable hosting if you wish.

  8. Kelvin did you eventually try out Epaykenya? I have and so far no complaints, you receive the money on the same day

    • George ndolo says:

Epay-Kenya has been very consistent and reliable for the last two years or so. They started as e-pesa but then rebranded to epay Kenya. They use a third party gateway, and this explains why their charges are on the higher side but then you are sure of receiving your money within 24 hrs. I have used them since they started and I have to say…no disappointment to date..

  9. hey this guys are not serious my Pal was to send me a total of 40k last week she sent 20k on Tuesday and 20k on Wednesday but up to now I have not received anything I once got 1k when we tested the service but my pal just informed me she has made several attempts to reach pay mpesa but they are not even picking her calls or mine, we really pray this is not a scam KEVIN Please advise whats happening to order ID is #150 and order ID is #147

    • I’m sorry to hear about this. I’m afraid that I cannot help you out. Like Chapaa is not affiliated with PayMPESA. Please contact them directly.

    • i made an order of 10k as a trial through paympesa and believe me i will never try it again. having taken about 3 weeks claiming they transact the deal through Uk, then with the most contradiction that their account in kenya was suspended without their knowledge. the way they were talking with me showed a lot of suspicion on my side.
they had a very good idea about the whole thing but they should know they are losing a lot of customers. i believe the kelvin here is the kevin who works with the paympesa. if in case i will never try ur service it was useless and they should have notified in the first place.
      i cannot recommend anyone.
but let people use on their own risk

      • Lagvier. Don’t you think it is unfair to blame me? What makes you think the Kevin who owns/runs PayMPESA is the same as me?

Come on, that is a silly accusation and you know it. Why would I need to create a separate identity?

I am very sorry that your experience with PayMPESA has been bad. But
please do not make such baseless accusations against innocent people (in this case me). Your grief is no reason for slander.

My name is Kelvin Jayanoris. I own LikeChapaa.com, NickelPro.com, DukaPress.org and other websites. I have no interest whatsoever in PayMPESA.

Please get your facts straight before you make accusations against people that you do not know.

        • sorry Kelvin, the Kevin of paympesa has just responded below that. am still searching a better online way which is more reliable and efficient. just like paypal a ecurrency transfer should be a matter of transacting online within the specified time. the customer should just confirm after the transaction which should indicate that the amount is completed not to ask why it is not complete. i hope you case is more reliable

  10. From PayMpesa.com
First we would like to inform our potential customers that Jezz’s Order ID # 147 and Order ID # 150 has been completed. We also appologise for the huge delays the low level of customer service that was experienced by our customer. We have made considerable changes including changing and introducing new systems that would considerably reduce such occurrence in future.

We must also admit that the level of service that was given during Jezz’s order was well below our standards. When we launched the service, we had no solid statistics into demand of our service and put the right resources to serve our prospective customers. We have learnt a lot from our failures and for the few delays we have had we do promise to raise the bar and get our services to international level.

Lastly we do hugely say Thank You for all the customers including Jezz, who have supported us and been patient with us as we grow to provide better services.

    Kevin N.

    PayMpesa.com
    info@paympesa.com

    • guys, other than the delay I experienced I got all my orders paid in full and also got some personalized customer support by Kevin and team that expedited the payment of my order.
I would also like to withdraw my initial statement above.
PayMpesa is a great service and I will be sure to use the service again.
      Thanks Kevin.

      Jezz

    • My order ID #164 and #165 has not been withdrawed since Monday upto now Saturday and you wrote within 5 days everything will be okey. Please work on that Kevin.

    • PayMpesa is a scam. I withdrew money from paypal and I’m still waiting a month plus later. I’ve contacted the admin several times and he keeps giving false promises. And when I requested him to send my money back to paypal he stopped replying.

Guys, use their services at your own risk.

    • Kevin,
You have gone mum with my order as well. You made promises then went quiet.

      • My order is 265. Still awaiting fulfillment Kevin since October 15th.

        • Paympesa will never pay you guys. I highly advice you to file a dispute with Paypal

About paypal withdrawals, I found a great Mastercard from US that allows Kenyan Paypal account holder withdraw from local ATMs, interested parties can contact me at

    • Now that your website is down, what do you have to say?

  11. Ok this is my second order from Paympesa. The first order was completed fast and I got a great deal of customer support from Kevin.
Well I made another order some 6 days ago and I have not got any information regarding the order So Kevin please can you check into that
    The order number is 160

  12. Well Once again Kevin has outdone himself Thanks a lot Kevin.
My order has been completed as requested

  13. I am an online writer and usually use a Kazakhstani to change money from Paypal to Moneybookers then withdraw to my bank account. I came across PayMpesa and decided well, if it is owned by a Kenyan, why not use it. So i sent a test cash of 10,000/- requested on Monday Aug 22 at 8.22 am order #177 and today Saturday Aug 27 at 10.30 am I am still waiting. An email to customer care on Friday went unreplied. I like to promote local folks but as much as 5 days is a long time, 5 days from monday morning should be Friday evening. I will update you folks on how it goes with this service if/when I receive my order.

    • Please update if you got the transfer so that we know if it actually works

    • please elaborate further how you transfer your funds from paypal to moneybookers. I posses both accounts but I have more confidence in the withdrawal system provided by epay-kenya which only allows transactions through moneybookers

    • At last the money got here, and kevin gave me a bonus 1000/- for the troubles. I had to wait over a week though, I was getting worried. I talked to Paypal and this service is still illegal, it is against their terms of service. Soon they are gonna get busted and any moneys they may still be processing will go down with them, just the way it happened to e-pesa.net sometimes in January last year. This service is not a scam, but it is risky. Do not send money through them if you cannot afford to lose it.

      • thNK YOU FOR THE FEEDBACK HOWEVER HOWEVER IT IS TOO LATE FOR THAT NOW……SOME OF US HAVE ALREADY MADE ORDERS AWAITING FULFILMENT

  14. indeed if there is anyone who has i formation regarding the legitimacy and authenticity of paypesa please notify us as we would like to know more.

  15. Rodge, how do you transfer money from paypal to moneybookers using Kazakhstani….please elaborate further.

    • The kazakhstani is a friend I met on Moneyexchangeplace.com, I dont know how he does it but he takes about 17% to transfer cash from paypal to moneybookers in three days.

  16. What are the charges for using PayMPESA?This is would be an answered prayer to many. Is it cheaper than the ~$25 deducted while using wire transfer? Another thing; founded by Kelvin and who owns it? Sorry if i sound like a pessimist but since DECI days, i don trust individually owned entities.

  17. For those who want to convert paypal to Moneybookers use exchangezone.com you will also need a Libertyreserve account

  18. Meanwhile…I need a cheap laptop worthy <us$230…will pay u via moneybookers ONLY! But lazima we meet
(sorry, I know this is not the right place for such)

  19. I am beginning to fear this program. I made an order on monday the 29th and its been 6 days of agony worrying about my hard earned cash. without even a notification that there may be delays in the transfer to put me at ease….. I am seriously dissapointed about the program my order ID 186. and today is sunday. surely something must be done……..I am losing my patience and my confidence in the program.

  20. I made my order on Sunday the 28th. Kevin told me it would be fulfilled by sat 3rd sept. I am yet to see the money. My order is #185 for 15000. Well, I am waiting for the fulfilment, 7 days later. I also have two unanswered emails. I would hate to rate this service as a scam seeing what a brilliant idea it is.

  21. They pay don’t worry you guys mine i was paid after 7 days i was worrying like you but finally i was paid. Great service!

  22. I have been busy about this too…anybody tried http://www.nandi-hills.com/?….. This guys offer similar services. they claim to process immediately.

  23. Guys guys,,,This guys on Epay-kenya are the best….I withdrew from Moneybookers with them and within five minutes and my Mpesa was ringing…..I don’t know if they offer Paypal withdrawals but you can go personal with them and see if they can help you out.
The charges are however high…You will have to part with 10% + around $3 to get your cash into Mpesa.
All in all….I think they are wonderfull

    • With Moneybookers or alertpay, the last time I checked, you could withdraw money directly to your bank account (wire transfer); unless you were concerned with the convenience, then you can get your money from Money bookers into your account without the hassle of another intermediary. However, wire transfers below $400, usually have some associated costs (I guess up to $25), plus some banks in Kenya charge a fee for effecting foreign exchanges (I specifically get annoyed of this additional charge since banks always buy foreign currencies at far lower rates than the operating rate in the market). You have to compare E-pay’s exchange rate with that of other offers like babawatoto (unfortunately babawatoto does not accept payments originating from kenyan Paypal accounts; I could have given them regular business) to know that e-pay’s offer is a raw deal.

The issue that has bothered me, for a while now, is how to get Paypal money, at a fair rate to any of the following:
      (i) moneybookers,
      (ii) alertpay,
(iii) Payoneer (I know payoneer offers an option to transfer money from paypal @ about $100 p.a, but I do not wish to commit to such an annual fee since, since they already access a monthly fee of $3 and, albeit slowly, clients are beginning to recognize other payment options other than paypal; it might not be a good return on investment in the long term),
      (iv) kenyan bank account.

Currency Exchangers could be an option, but I have found out that finding a reliable one is more difficult than making and using a friend in countries where Paypal withdraws are accepted.

I still wonder why we were so excited about Paypal’s inclusion of Kenya, as I-don’t-know-what country sometime last year. It has turned to be more of a hype than a reality. 🙁

  24. I just startf an online job but most of the clients want to use paypal though i have a money bookers account. I want to know how to withdraw it to my bank account. The article and comments have been helpful i stil have no sure idea, how i can do that. I saw the paympesa website and i want to give it a try though i need more details before that. Anyone, kelvin? Or kevin of paympesa? Please help!

    • hi I have been looking for online work for he longest time but to no avail. since yo said you found some good work I am hoping you will share this with me. kindly help a brother out.

      • hey brian,
i joined freelancer two months ago and created my profile there. At first it was hard to get work but after a while i got a client and now clients are more than before and i get regular work, plus i work on parttime. It is good you should try it.The website is http://www.freelancer.com ,goodluck.

  25. i withdrew with paympesa 8 days ago and am yet to get my cash,
all i get is empty promises fro ma guy called kevin.
seriously this guys are not legit at all

  26. I use pay mpesa often, have no problem with the delays because the guy is in constant communication and very straight up about it. I recommended the service my to colleagues until they stumbled on to this blog. Funny thing is, you all got your money i presume, because the complaints left as fast as they came and very few of you confirm or retract the spirited defamation…..
Kevin, keep up this great service. Loyal customer.

    • How long does it take you to get your money? My first withdrawal took me 8 days then on Wed 7th I sent another order, till this day all I get is promises ‘within an hour’, ‘by the end of the day’, ‘this weekend will not pass’, ‘we changed our accounts’, ‘we are having delays’… this has been going on for 16 days now im almost just giving it up

    • really,
am still waiting for my order.
      kevin has gone silent kabisa,
i ended up withdrawing more money via epay-kenya though they are expensive they are very efficient,

    • My story is different. It has been now 1 and a half months since I made an order and haven’t received the money. They paid me half after two 3 weeks of making the order and am still waiting for the balance. My patience has run out with paympesa.

    • My order #236 is still pending and I can never use their service again. It was just a test so not much money but am trying to imagine if i had ordered a lot of money and needed it urgently.

      • Pole Cess 🙁 Lets hope that he will eventually come through

      • Hey, was your order sorted? I also have an order that is still pending. the thing is that Kevin is now mteja

        • It wasn’t. I requested him to refund to my paypal account and i’m still waiting….

          • @Cess, you should file a dispute with Paypal. I did, my order was #234. Kevin told me that his Paypal account was limited so there was no way he was going to sort anyone out.

Luckily, I found this great Mastercard from US that allows me to withdraw my Paypal funds from local ATMs. Hola at me if you are interested

          • Hello Cess,
I hope you filed a dispute with Paypal (needs to be done within 45 days after transaction).
I did that and I am glad that by the grace of God Paypal ruled in my favor and refunded my account.
Please do that as soon as you can. And I hope God will cause things to work in your favor.

            • @Patience

I found a solution to our paypal woes. I have a mastercard from US that allows withdrawals from local ATMs. Contact me if you are interested

              • Finally got my back after filing a dispute against Paympesa…I encourage anyone whose order is still pending to do the same before it’s too late

            • Patiece, I already filed one my girl. Now I’m waiting for them to resolve it. Luckily, I did it just in time; I had one day left. The good thing is, we’ve learnt our lesson.

  27. they finally sorted me out, thanks kevin

  28. Finally got the balance. Hope the system works fine from now on.

  29. Hi guys, am just worried coz i have used both the services, and being a writer, i hoped i would use the services of pay mpesa more, but NO!
these guys have my order ID #207. TO which they promised to deliver the ksh.5000 in 5 days, it’s one week now, with no response. I have tried to use their form which they give for inquiries, (three ties), no one responds,

can some1 help me with their hone numbers,

    please

  30. Very informative

  31. Kelvin delivered my 5k on Tuesday and sent me the apologies for the delay, hope he will sought you out too.

  32. I tried the PayMpesa stuff jana, (order No. 260 and 261) trying to withdraw around 41k, and first of all, it cost me an arm and a leg. But i got a payment from Paypal and there’s no other way to withdraw it anyway. I paid for the Express service which means they’re supposed to send you the chumz in 24hours but almost 26hours later, nothing. I’m starting to think this guy is dodgy. For the guys who’ve gotten their funds from this guy, can anyone send me his number (Kevin Ndege’s). I’m really not jazzed. And if he can respond to this, that would be even better. But please respond after you’ve processed the order. Anything before that will just be hot air to be quite honest.

    • Don’t fret, he’ll send you the cash alright, I have used his services a couple of times. The problem is that my last withdrawal took more than 3 weeks to process, with the guy making tons of promises throughout the entire period. Now I prefer to pay 18% to withdraw through Epay-Kenya. leave your email address to get his number.

      • Lol. I managed to get through to him. He sounds like a decent person but a decent person who’ll run a good business idea to the ground. And considering the fees they make, its very baffling that they don’t strive to be efficient in processing their orders. Can you imagine how much he could potentially make from repeat business? Cos he makes like 1300 per minimum order. If he gets even just 3-4 per day, he’s doing extremely well. Anyway, all the best to him. If he fails to honour my order, i’ll just pick it up with Paypal. They can block him from transacting in a matter of hours.

        • Just got my full refund from PayMpesa. Its a good idea but that Kevin chap needs to get either a third party financing the payments or he just shuts down. Its such a brilliant idea being run poorly if the comments on here are anything to go by. I just made a withdrawal via Epay-Kenya and it was so solid. Great customer service, and I have a good feeling they’ll meet the order within the time they’ve stated.
As for Kevin, call me we talk. I work in Finance and we can work something out on how to get your business to the next level. And yes, that means capital injection.

  33. I knew there would likely be better option than this.
to me although the use of payoneer was better, i could not access it that is why i tried the pampesa which to me was not satisfying. but at last i can confidently withdraw my amount in less than a about 3 days. Anyway, i still have a week to verify my information and leave any agent in the path to my hard-earned cash.

  34. Am back, very confused. kelvin has my order 235, waited for 2 weeks now. He promised to give refund, no refund to order fulfilling and now am worried

    what next

    • @Mike, I know he will deliver the only thing about it is the time to get but i promise he will deliver have experience

  35. My order number is 234 and it is also 2 weeks, I am starting to wonder if they will ever pay.

  36. Hi all,

I once used paympesa to withdraw around 4k. It took a while before I finally got the payment from Kevin. I lost his no. in my last phone and now I think I’m going to use this service again. I need to get his number so that I can keep him on toes with my order. The number was removed from his whois info. Anyone, or Kevin himself please send me his no. My email is edu76ers@gmail.com. Thanks

  37. My order number 218 dated september 26 is still awaiting fulfillment. All I have been getting from the man in charge are excuses until he now went mute. I bet I am justified to take action against him.

    • Anonymous says:

Guys, if you want to avoid the heartache of waiting for your hard earned money for weeks use epay. Currently it is the best and they process payments within hours. they are also very reliable. I have made two transactions between yesterday and today and I have received my money.

  38. Their paypal account was limited..Do not dare withdrawing from them, My order is now one month old and still awaiting fulfillment.

    • Hey Albert, did the guy sort you out?

      • This guy called Kevin sends me these stupid emails saying that they are going to do it this weekend. I am yet to receive the money. How about you.

        • I am still waiting. I asked him to initiate a refund of which he copied me the mail he supposedly sent to paypal. surprisingly even after that he kept on saying that he is looking for an alternative and he would sort me. that was his position up until last thursday. he promised to clear the order last friday only for him to go mteja. guy comes up on saturday claiming his phone was rained on but since it has a warranty he will be sorted jana and even offered to meet me and give me a personal cheque monday i bank on 10th. by that time i had written to paypal so he went back to being mteja. paypal advised that i open a dispute. you can do the same

          • I have raised the dispute..there’s no way this guy is running away with my money.

            • Hello Albert,
Just a point of information. The dispute I filed with Paypal has been cleared by the grace of God. I hope you found a better channel of withdrawing your money. Al tleast we have learnt a lesson but through it all I thanks God coz it has ended well.
              Cheers

    • his website is no longer online. you get this when there

  39. The best way to get paid online would be using moneybookers (Skrill). You can have the money electronically transferred to your bank account ( at a fee of course). Paypal is very strict and can be a real pain in the neck unless you are willing to spend the amounts in your paypal account online..

    • hey rico, how much is the fee to withdraw from money bookers (skrill) straight to your bank account?

      • They will charge you around 2.6$ only and your bank will get their share(I use Equity which charges ksh. 600)…very convenient….in two -three days..your money is secure in your bank account.

        • Check my last post for a paypal withdraw service.

          Thanks

        • Just to be precise, does this mean the total cost is the ksh. 600 + the roughly 2.6 USD to bring the total to around 800 and something shillings?

          • Yes..which is very cheap as there are no other charges regardless of the amount transacted.
@Epay a constant 3$ and additional 10% of the total amount is deducted for every transaction+ a moneybookers fee.

i think this is a noble idea but i wonder why paypal cant liase with local banks- it would be easier .
.@ kelvin N how does paympesa really work? how much can it cost me per transaction to withdraw funds from paypal kenya. is this business legitimate in any way?

    • I was thinking about that also….what if we all wrote to the customer support(Paypal) requesting them to work out a way to withdraw in Kenya, would it have any significance….just a thought!

      • I have written to them on several occassions and all they tell me is that they regulation in Kenya are not favorable but their international is working hard to ensure we get the local banks allow withdrawals.

  41. Hi All,
Albert and Patience, did Paypal issue you with a refund? I also have an order pending with Kevin and now he has gone quiet. Very frustrating during such hard times.

    • Hey Isabelle,
Paypal reviewed my dispute and ruled in my favor so the money was refunded. Did you file the dispute within 45 days after the transaction?

  42. @Isabelle, I filed a dispute so am waiting for the process to go through. It is a useless service.

Luckily, I found a way out. I found a great Master card from US that allows me to withdraw my Paypal funds for only $2.50 from local ATM. Anyone interested can drop me a mail.

It’s completely free and they are even offering a referral program where you can earn up to $20 if you subscribe from a referral link like the one am gonna send you.

  43. Have you people heard about the new Safaricom -M-PESA Prepay Safari
visa Card(its a patnership between I & M and Safaricom)……more informatiom is in the safaricom website. They say you can do online transactions and its cheaper to register and do money tranfers plus you can transfer money from mpesa to card and viceversa….i was just wondering if anybody knows whether one can use the card with PAYPAL?

    • Do u intend to use it to shop or receive payments?
Any Visa Card works with Paypal, the only one I have a problem attaching to paypal is Co-op card bt the rest are ok, I am yet to try that one from Safcom.

If you are looking for a local card to withdraw your funds from paypal, forget it!

  44. i forgotto say also with the mpesa visa you can withdraw money from any ATM in Kenya and any part of the world.

I’ve been using moneybookers and epay and i’m satisfied with their service. I was wondering if there was another service that was just as quick and reliable as epay but cheaper?

  46. Has anyone looked into the safaricom card please…thanks in advance

  47. After all said and done, I still don’t get the solution of how to withdraw cash from paypal. So far e-pay is what I use, I like their services but it costs an arm and a leg for us small timers! I need a service like moneybookers, quite affordable!

  48. @ken.the safcad only helps you verify ua paypal account

  49. I was sitting today and thinkig….what if we decided to open new paypal accounts but using US IP’s…..that way paypal would think we are from the US and thus any money you send would seem to originate from the US. THis could enable you to take advantage of Baba watoto and nandi hills coz they think u r in diapora! I have reviewed their rates and they are way lower(baba watoto) than those of epay kenya!!

    • Trust me, Paypal will get you and limit your account. I was also thinking the same thing but masking your IP to deceive them will land you in trouble.

  50. It seems PayPal will be coming FULLY to Kenya soon, read this: http://likechapaa.com/?p=3098
